Kevin T. Marks, M.D.
Dr. Kevin T. Marks is a board-certified gastroenterologist who practices general gastroenterology and hepatology. His career in health care first began in 1991 when he received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from Xavier University of Louisiana. Prior to entering medical school, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a clinical research administrator. He also worked as a retail pharmacist. Dr. Marks is a graduate from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed internal medicine residency in 2003 and fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and advanced therapeutic endoscopy in 2006, both at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Marks entered private practice in 2006 and has clinical areas of interest in colon cancer prevention, gastroesophageal reflux disorder, pancreas, biliary and liver disorders as well as weight management. Dr. Marks has served on speaker bureaus and advisory panels for pharmaceutical companies and he also serves on various hospital committees. He participates as an investigator in clinical trials. He is an active staff member of Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and Houston Methodist West Hospital.
Dr. Marks is a native of Southwest Louisiana and enjoys music and fine arts, various outdoor activities and cooking.
Dr. Marks was voted Top Gastroenterologist 2017 by Living Magazine-Katy/Fulshear Reader’s Choice. He was also named Top Gastroenterologist 2013 by Houstonia Magazine.
Murtaza Arif, M.D.
Dr. Murtaza Arif is a graduate of Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and did fellowship training in gastroenterology at the University of Missouri in Columbia. In practice since 2005, Dr. Arif is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He treats adult patients (18 and older) and speaks Urdu and Hindi. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Dr. Arif specializes in treating all gastrointestinal diseases including acid reflux/heartburn, celiac disease, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel disease (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), hemorrhoids, gallstone and biliary diseases. He is passionate about screening and prevention of colon cancer. Dr. Arif’s practice philosophy centers on providing quality care with empathy. His goal is to provide patients access to quality care and state-of-the-art treatment within their community. His patients appreciate the opportunity to address their questions and concerns directly with him. He informs them about their test results and responds to any questions as quickly as possible after clinic visits. Dr. Arif, who lives in Sugar Land, is married and the father of two sons. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling.
Laurie Hutcherson, PA-C
Laurie is a native of Kansas where she obtained her bachelors of science in human nutrition, cum laude. She then earned her masters of physician assistant studies from Texas Tech University health sciences center in 2005. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and board certified by the national commission on certification of physician assistants. She resides in Katy and enjoys time with her family and crossfit when she is not working.
